Will this course certify me to ship dangerous goods?
This course purely covers dangerous goods security awareness training. If you do need training in the transport of dangerous goods, please take a look at our other courses.
I’ve previously taken dangerous goods transport training. Do I need to take this course?
Our dangerous goods transport training courses do cover some security in line with the requirements in the regulations, however, we don’t go into depth on security in this course.
Do I legally need to take this training course if I’m involved in dangerous goods?
The Department for Transport security guidelines are a guide rather than the law. It is not designed to override any provisions in the ADR regulations. ADR 1.10.1.1 states: “All persons engaged in the carriage of dangerous goods shall consider the security requirements set out in this Chapter commensurate with their responsibilities.” It is clear that all should have an awareness of the security risks – and it is possible that a lot of that will be covered in an organisations own internal security or staff onboarding procedures. Customers should take a look at existing procedures and training and make sure they are meeting the Department for Transport guidelines.
Do I need to have completed any other training to take this course?
This course can be taken as a standalone training course or alongside others. It is designed for anyone involved in dangerous goods transport.
Can I complete dangerous goods paperwork after completing this course?
This training course does not certify you to complete dangerous goods paperwork and you will need one of our other courses. If you’re not sure what course is right for you, please do get in touch.
