Frequently Asked Questions?
How long does the certificate last?
Delegates receive two certificates on completion of this course; an air certificate lasting two years, and a road & sea certificate.
I only ship limited quantities by air. Is this course right for me?
Air transport makes up a considerable proportion of this training course, and unless you are based at the airport, your goods are going to travel by road to reach the aircraft, therefore, it makes sense to know the road regulations as well.
All my products move by road only within the UK. Is this course right for me?
A substantial proportion of this course does focus on air transport, so if you are only moving these goods domestically within the UK an in-house bespoke option might make more sense for you. Do get in touch and we can review your needs and provide a recommendation.
Is the exam taken on the course?
Yes, there is an exam for the air portion of the course. It will take place not long after the mid-point of the training. There is no exam for road & sea training.
How does the exam work online?
We will ship you an exam paper in a tamper proof envelope that you will open on-camera in-front of our trainer. When the test concludes you will put the exam back in the sealed envelope.
I ship some goods limited quantities but not excepted quantities – can I still take this course?
The principles of transporting limited and excepted quantities by air, road & sea are similar, and our trainers teach both in tandem, therefore if you just ship by excepted quantities or just by limited this course will be relevant to you.
Will this course cover Lithium Batteries?
This training course is exclusively focused on the transport of limited quantities by air, road & sea. Lithium batteries cannot be sent in limited or excepted quantities. We do, however, have a specialist lithium battery training course focused solely on battery transport and the practicalities of shipping them by air, road & sea. See here. If you are shipping small batteries, we may be able to offer an in-house training course.
