Frequently Asked Questions?

How long does the certificate last?

Delegates receive two certificates on completion of this course; an air certificate lasting two years, and a road & sea certificate.

I just ship biological substances. Is this course right for me?

Yes this course covers both biological and infectious substance shipments. Please make sure you let your trainer know as we can provide you with a different exam at the end of the course (solely covering biological substances and dry ice).

I only ship dry ice with non-hazardous goods inside. Should I take this course?

Dry ice forms a small element of this training course, so if you’re only shipping dry ice and no infectious or biological substances, please get in touch as we can deliver a half day course on an in-house basis, which will be solely focused on dry ice.

I am already qualified in the transport of dangerous goods. Do I need to take a separate infectious substances training course?

If you have an in-date certificate for the transport of all dangerous goods by air, then you are already in practice qualified to ship infectious and diagnostic substances. However, the course you will have taken will have been more general as it will have covered all forms of dangerous goods.

Is the exam taken on the course?

Yes, there is an exam for the air portion of the course. It will take place towards the end of the training course. There is no exam for road & sea training.

How does the exam work online?

We will ship you an exam paper in a tamper proof envelope that you will open on-camera in-front of our trainer. When the test concludes you will put the exam back in the sealed envelope.
