Frequently Asked Questions?
How long does the certificate last?
Delegates receive two certificates on completion of this course; an air certificate lasting two years, and a road & sea certificate.
I am already qualified in the transport of dangerous goods. Do I need to take a separate lithium battery training course?
If you have an in-date certificate for the transport of all dangerous goods by air, then you are already in practice qualified to ship lithium batteries. However, the course you will have taken will have been more general as it will have covered all forms of dangerous goods. The approach regulators have taken with lithium batteries is very different, and so many customers still choose to get the additional qualification to better understand the practicalities of moving batteries.
All my batteries move by road only within the UK. Is this course right for me?
A substantial proportion of this course does focus on air transport, so if you are only moving these goods domestically within the UK an in-house bespoke option might make more sense for you. Do get in touch and we can review your needs and provide a recommendation.
Is the exam taken on the course?
Yes, there is an exam for the air portion of the course. It will take place not long after the mid-point of the training. There is no exam for road & sea training.
How does the exam work online?
We will ship you an exam paper in a tamper proof envelope that you will open on-camera in-front of our trainer. When the test concludes you will put the exam back in the sealed envelope.
