Frequently Asked Questions?
How long does the certificate last?
On successful completion of the training course, delegates receive a certificate of competence valid for two years, after which they will need to revalidate.
Does this course cover radioactive material shipped in excepted packages?
Yes, this course covers the movement of all class 7 consignments allowed by the ICAO/ IATA regulations. If you just ship excepted packages or fully regulated radioactive materials, this course is relevant to you.
I am already qualified in the transport of dangerous goods by air, do I still need to take this course to move radioactive material?
Training in the carriage of dangerous goods by air (including our course) typically covers all classes of dangerous goods. Moving radioactive material is very different to moving other dangerous goods by air, in part due to the involvement of the International Atomic Energy Agency. To deliver this training, trainers must have a further specialist qualification and as a training provider we must have an approval in addition to our existing Civil Aviation Authority approval for training in the transport of general dangerous goods by air.
Is there a difference between taking this course online or in the classroom?
The course is the same taken online and in the classroom. Some new delegates do prefer the classroom course when going through this material for the first time, however, the content will be the same, the only difference being online we split the training into four modules delivered across four days, instead of two full days of training.
Is the exam taken on the course?
Yes, there is an exam for the air portion of the course. It will take place towards the end of the training course.
How does the exam work online?
We will ship you an exam paper in a tamper proof envelope that you will open on-camera in-front of our trainer. When the test concludes you will put the exam back in the sealed envelope.
