2024 Dangerous Goods Training Schedule: New Courses and New Venues
To continue to deliver on our commitment to provide comprehensive and accessible training in the transport of dangerous goods, we are launching a number of new courses for 2024, and extending availability for online and classroom training.
New Courses:
1. Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail:
The latest feather in Peter East’s cap is the “Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail” course. Conducted twice a year online, this course delves deep into the RID regulations, providing delegates with a thorough understanding of the intricacies involved in transporting dangerous goods by rail. This course is a perfect solution for those moving dangerous goods by rail, or who want to become familiar with the regulations before taking the exam to become a rail DGSA.
2. Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Air, Road & Sea Awareness:
Commencing in March 2024, monthly Dangerous Goods Awareness Courses will be offered. The awareness course offers those with limited dangerous goods contact or responsibilities a training option. What sets these courses apart from others is their instructor-led format, providing a unique opportunity for interaction with one of our dangerous goods safety advisors. These courses serve as an ideal introduction for newcomers to the dangerous goods’ regulatory framework, and essential training for individuals with limited compliance responsibilities.
3. Carriage of Dangerous Goods for Biotech in Cambridge:
Recognising the concentration of biotech companies in Eastern England, particularly around Cambridge, Peter East is introducing a specialised week of dangerous goods training in this region. There will be training on the carriage of dangerous goods by air, alongside transport of infectious and biological substances by air, road & sea, catering to the specific needs of the pharma cluster.
Changes and Enhancements:
Addressing customer feedback, we have strategically added additional Dangerous Goods by Road training dates a few weeks prior to the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) course. This addition is designed to provide a solid foundation for new DGSA candidates, particularly those without a background in dangerous goods, helping them better prepare for the DGSA course and subsequent exams.
2. Dangerous Goods by Air Training in Gatwick:
Expanding its reach, Peter East has included Gatwick in its roster of locations for Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Air Certification courses. This addition provides more accessibility for individuals and companies located in and around the Gatwick area, and a more convenient option for customers located to the south east of London.
3. Live Online Radioactive by Air Courses:
In response to the growing demand for online training, the Carriage of Radioactive Material by Air course will now be available in a live online format, in addition to existing options in Heathrow. This allows participants to access high-quality training without the need to be physically present in the classroom.
4. ADR & IMDG Covered in Infectious Courses:
Broadening its scope, the Carriage of Infectious Substances course, which initially focused exclusively on-air transport, will now cover road and sea transport as well. This expansion reflects Peter East’s commitment to providing a holistic understanding of the carriage of dangerous goods across various modes of transport.
With our 2024 training schedule, we’ve sought to ensure all of our customers across all industries have access to top-tier training, keeping them abreast of the latest regulations and best practices in the safe carriage of dangerous goods. As always, we continue to provide all of this training and more on an in-house basis. Get in touch to find out more.
